The 2024 Higher Education Pedagogy Seminar – Pedaforum will be held at HAMK
The Higher Education Pedagogy Seminar – Pedaforum is the most important annual conference in the field of higher education pedagogy. Next summer, the event will be organised by Häme University of Applied Sciences.
The 2024 Pedaforum will be held on 5–6 June 2024 at HAMK, Hämeenlinna University of Applied Sciences. The event will start with networking meetings on 4.6.
The aim of Pedaforum 2024 is to share experiences of good practice and knowledge from higher education pedagogical research to promote quality learning and improve teaching. The event will bring together a wide range of experts in teaching, guidance and learning management and other participants interested in higher education teaching and research. Speakers will include Otto Scharmer, Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Founder and President of the Presence Institute, and Anne-Birgitta Pessi, Professor of Church Sociology at the University of Helsinki. Around 500 participants are expected to attend. The evening party will be held in the idyllic setting of Vanajanlinna.
The theme of the conference is “Higher education pedagogy as a builder of global well-being”. The theme will be cross-cutting and aim to engage higher education stakeholders in the promotion of well-being. In addition to presentations related to well-being and global issues in higher education, the conference will welcome presentations on a wide range of topical issues in higher education, such as sustainability and accessibility, support for continuous learning, or the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in higher education.
Heidi Ahokallio-Leppälä, Vice President of HAMK, is delighted about the upcoming event, which will bring together both Finnish and international actors working together to promote excellence in student learning and well-being.
“High-quality higher education pedagogy that supports well-being enables us to offer students a wide range of learning experiences, skills to solve complex problems, promote sustainable development and thus also support the building of global well-being. This is particularly important now, when the uncertainty around us has increased,” says Ahokallio-Leppälä.
The programme of the event will be updated on our website.
