We aim to ensure the level of education and competence of the the future experts. By developing the research infrastructure, we will improve our capabilities in research and research service provision related to the overall utilization chain of biomass and side streams. By using modern biotechnologies and digital tools, we enable the development of new applications and products and the more optimal utilization of biomasses.
The project includes:
- the planning and
- the construction of the operating conditions of the research infrastructure in cooperation with various partners
- the process development especially for data utilization and digital decision-making tools.
New infrastructure will be built on existing premises and on new laboratory premises in the Smart & Bio research and training environment at the Hämeenlinna University Centre. The project also takes care of the implementation of new equipment and laboratory/piloting capabilities, as well as the development of sufficient expertise and new research service products.
We pay special attention to service design and to finding out the needs of the customer. Sales of basic activities and service product development will be further increased.
Target Group
We respond to the RDI needs of companies by developing HAMK SmartBio research infrastructure and further improving the research service offering offered directly to companies. The main objective is to open up RDI-services to more companies and operators.
Operating Region
With the Smart & Bio research environment and growing infrastructure, our goal is to become an even more interesting partner to public research funding in Europe and worldwide.
