In SMARTCITYWIND project we examine the conditions for the deployment of urban wind power. The focus is on the study of wind potential in different locations and property types.
Urban wind power is small-scale wind power, for example from vertical windmills on the roofs of buildings. In Urban wind power – implementation conditions and profitability (SMARTCITYWIND) project we will examine the conditions for its introduction from the point of view of wind power and economic viability. The project is implemented by the SYKLI Environmental College, with Häme University of Applied Sciences and Limowa ry as co-implementers.
Our role is to bring expertise to the project in wind measurement equipment, data storage and analysis. We will make the knowledge accumulated in the project available in Kanta-Häme, thus promoting the introduction and spread of renewable energy production methods in the region.
Target group
The main target groups of the project are the cities and municipalities of Uusimaa and Kanta-Häme regions, property owners and companies that fit into the business ecosystem that will be built around small wind power.
Area of activity
The information produced in the project will be particularly useful for Uusimaa and Kanta-Häme regions.
