We develop AI-supported pedagogical models that enhance non-native students’ learning of Finnish or Swedish in vocational education.
We provide teaching and guidance staff with tools to promote language-aware instruction.
HAMK brings strong pedagogical expertise and experience in integrating AI technologies into learning. Our role includes developing language-aware teaching models, designing and supporting pilot implementations, and assessing the outcomes of these pilots. Additionally, we innovate new pedagogical applications for generative AI and utilize our extensive research and development expertise to create practical methods that support teachers and workplace instructors.
Target group
The primary target groups are vocational education teachers and instructors, especially vocational subject teachers, while non-native students benefit indirectly. The project’s outcomes also support educational institution leaders, workplace instructors, and industry representatives involved in the learning and employment of non-native speakers.
Operating area
KAI is a nationwide project that benefits the entire Finnish vocational education sector. The pilot programs and developed models will reach a wide range of educational institutions and industry stakeholders, promoting language-aware AI competence across the country.
