Budget | 652 000 € |
The aim of the project is to strengthen the climate expertise of the land use sector, especially in the following target groups: agriculture and forestry entrepreneurs, advisors, teachers, natural resources students and other target groups interested in the theme.
The results of the RDI projects of the universities of applied sciences related to sustainable agricultural production, especially those funded from the Catch the Carbon Programme, are compiled and implemented, and exported in a coordinated manner to AgriHub and other communication channels used by target groups. At the same time, cooperation between higher education institutions in the field of natural resources will be strengthened and the profiling of the universities of applied sciences in the field of natural resources will be clarified. One of the sub-objectives is also to strengthen Agrihub’s role in knowledge sharing, especially among RDI actors, teaching staff and students linked to the natural resource sector of the universities of applied sciences.
The project compiles study materials and study modules on the results of the RDI activities of the universities of applied sciences in the field of natural resources, especially projects funded by the Catch the Carbon Programme. The implementation of the project results is promoted so that the information is available in the native language of the channel and the forums that the target group is used to using. The materials are taken to higher education institutions’ study offerings, for example to a platform for continuous learning. In addition, the results are communicated in a coordinated manner in large networks as well as on the AgriHubi platform and other communication channels. In addition, the network cooperation of the universities of applied sciences and the compilation of teaching materials promote the profiling of the studies of natural resources in the universities of applied sciences.
Deepening the climate expertise of the land use sector in target groups promotes climate action on agriculture and forestry when they are integrated as part of teaching and the perspective of economic sustainability is also taken into account. The project will introduce verified practical examples of how carbon sequestration in soil is more efficient. Motivated to take climate-smart actions that promote overall sustainability in both agriculture and forestry. Effective and correctly selected measures improve the profitability of agriculture and forestry and promote climate action.
The measures will promote carbon sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and forestry. The adaptation of agriculture and forestry to climate change will also improve with increased expertise.
