Our Valkeakoski campus, located in South Pirkanmaa, is modern and community-oriented.
In the corridors of the campus, you can get to know fellow students from all over the world, as the campus offers both international, English-language education and Finnish-language study programmes. Our community consists of around 850 students and 40 staff members.
The study environment is comfortable with a variety of teaching and independent work spaces. In addition, the Valkeakoski campus has a HAMK Gaming Lab for student gaming and a studio for video production.
The campus is located in the immediate vicinity of two secondary schools, Valkeakoski upper secondary school and Valkeakoski Vocational and Adult Education College. Valkeakoski offers a unique cooperation between the vocational and adult education college, the upper secondary school and local businesses.
The campus is only a few kilometres from the city centre and services.

The Valkeakoski campus is located a few kilometres from the centre of Valkeakoski. You can walk to the campus in about 40 minutes from the centre of Valkeakoski. You can also arrive by bus, bike or your own car.
Public transport
Check the Matkahuolto route guide for the correct bus route. The nearest bus stop to the Valkeakoski campus is called Koulukampus. The stop is marked with a yellow icon on the campus map.
Car
The parking areas on the campus are marked on the map with P-markers and are located on the Lotilantie side.
Our campus doors are generally open on weekdays between 8am and 4pm.
HAMK students can get a key card, which can be used to move around the campus even when the doors are locked.
Services
We warmly welcome you to enjoy a healthy and varied lunch or snack in our Campus restaurant Bitti. The student restaurant is located at Lotilantie 16, in the A-building of the campus.

An EXAM studio is available at the Valkeakoski campus intended for exams and maturity tests. The room is located at A-147 (A-building, 1st floor). Please note that a key card is needed to enter the room!
All enrolled degree students who are registered for attendance receive primary health care services through the FSHS.
In Valkeakoski, people live loosely and comfortably. On average, housing costs are one third cheaper than in Tampere.

Student Union of Häme University of Applied Sciences – HAMKO represents HAMK students and promotes their interests at all our campuses.
In addition to HAMKO, these student associations are active in Valkeakoski:

The campus has a very well-equipped gym in the library wing of the A building. It is free of charge for HAMK students and staff.

Evo
Our unique forest campus offers students high quality forest studies in Finnish and English, both in the classroom and in the forest.
Forssa
Our Forssa campus is located in an old cotton mill, which has been stylishly renovated for HAMK. A cultural centre has been created in the spinning mill area, which, in addition to the school, is home to a community college, a music college, museums, businesses, a library, a bowling alley and restaurants.
Hämeenlinna
Our evolving, growing and modern main campus, Hämeenlinna University Centre brings together thousands of students and hundreds of employees. Our extensive campus area offers a wide range of facilities and services for studying and research in different fields.
Lepaa
With farm landscapes, tomato production and 20 hectares of parkland, our Lepaa campus gives you a taste of horticulture up close. The campus has a long tradition of training horticultural professionals for over 100 years, since 1910.
Mustiala
Historic Mustiala, located in a peaceful rural setting, is HAMK’s oldest campus, dating back to 1840. Today, the old and idyllic buildings are surrounded by an advanced organic teaching and research farm, providing students with a hands-on learning environment.
Riihimäki
Diverse engineering skills, robotics and transport, you’ll find it all at the Riihimäki campus. The campus offers both Finnish- and English-language engineering courses, graduating future all-rounders. In addition to teaching, the campus also does a lot of research work.
