Creating international joint learning opportunities with our RUN-EU partners
We are aiming at creating 140 joint learning opportunities over the next four years together with our RUN European University partners. One platform for identifying learning opportunities and collaboration is European Programmes Academy – Exploratory Mission (EPA-mission). The first EPA-mission was held on FHV – Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, which is one of our RUN-EU partners. Our student Susanna Kuisma represented HAMK in Austria. How was her experience?
The first EPA-mission connected students, teachers, lecturers and researchers from all RUN-EU institutions in Austria to debate and review the needs of the regions and to co-create joint learning opportunities that can be delivered throughout and across RUN-EU. The theme of the first EPA-mission was “Education and Social Sciences”.
“For me it was great honor and joy to represent HAMK as a student and participate to this mission. I’m studying Social Services in HAMK and this is my area of expertice; to make contacts with people and share ideas and create something new”, says our student Susanna Kuisma.
Identifying and creating joint education portfolio for RUN-EU
EPA-missions support RUN-EU students and staff to identify new joint learning opportunities and to create RUN-EU’s joint education portfolio. The learning opportunities can be both short joint education opportunities, such as Short Advanced Programmes, Collaborative Online International Learning, Massive Open Online Courses, but also full double and joint European degree programmes. In total, there will be ten EPA-missions and 140 learning opportunities over the next four years organized in RUN-EU.
All our regions within RUN-EU face the challenges of an increasingly diverse society. We defined concrete idea and proposed learning opportunities and on last day we introduced it to the other participants. Maybe you will later hear more about “Celebrating diversity”!
Susanna Kuisma, student in social services at HAMK
“Our development team challenge theme was migration, integration, racism and diversity. All our regions within RUN-EU face the challenges of an increasingly diverse society. We defined concrete idea and proposed learning opportunities and on last day we introduced it to the other participants. Maybe you will later hear more about “Celebrating diversity”!”.
The learning opportunities aim at providing students, staff and other stakeholders with immersive challenge and work-based learning opportunities containing the most up-to-date knowledge and skills in cutting edge areas including EU priority areas associated with the digital and green transitions and current and future socio-economic challenges.
“I´m grateful to everyone who supported me on my way. I was learning so much from everyone and I´m happy that I had the chance to work side by side with such a professional persons”, Susanna summarizes her experience.
Food and Biotechnology learning opportunities and Science for Business Seminar at HAMK in May
The second EPA-mission will be organised at HAMK in May. The theme of the mission is “Food and Biotechnology”. EPA-missions are part of the European Programmes Academy (EPA), which is the engine of RUN-EU. It is where the needs of the future for all RUN-EU regions are evaluated, and joint learning opportunities are co-created. HAMK coordinates the RUN-EU European Pogrammes Academy.
At the same time with the EPA-mission, HAMK hosts Science for Business seminar which brings together local and regional businesses, regional stakeholders and RUN-EU researchers and their partner networks especially in the field of bioeconomy, circular economy and food- and biotechnology.
The seminar’s keynote speaker is Mari Pantsar, who has worked in management positions to solve ecological sustainability challenges for more than twenty years. She is well-known advocate for climate, nature and circular economy solutions.
The seminar is on 22-23 May and everyone interested in the topic is warmly welcome to join.
