Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about applying for studies at HAMK.
All applications to HAMK close at 3:00 PM (Finnish time, EEST UTC+3) on the final application day. Remember to start filling out your application well in advance to ensure you have enough time to submit it on time.
In general, you are eligible to apply to our degree programmes with a school certificate that would grant you eligibility to higher education in your own country.
In addition, all our applicants need to provide proof of their English language skills with one of the documents listed on our web pages in order to be selected. Updated instructions, student selection methods, student selection criteria and other useful information will be updated on our pages and to Studyinfo service before the application periods.
You cannot accept more than one study place leading to a higher education degree in Finland during the same semester. (One study place per term provision.) Please notice that accepting a study place is binding and cannot be changed afterwards.
If you are required to pay the tuition fee, you are not able to register for the academic year before you have paid the tuition fee.
The right to study period begins when you enrol as present or absent for the academic year. The regular completion time for Bachelor’s degree is 3.5 years (210 credits) or 4 years (240 credits). After that you have one extra year to complete your studies.
For Master’s degree the regular completion time is 2 years (60 credits) or 2.5 years (90 credits). After that you have one extra semester to complete your studies.
