Hämeenlinna University Centre

Our evolving, growing and modern main campus, Hämeenlinna University Centre brings together 5000 students and around 500 employees.

Our extensive campus area offers a wide range of facilities and services for studying and researching in different fields.

The Hämeenlinna University Centre has around 30 educations and is also the home campus of all HAMK’s research units. In addition, the campus is a great place to organize a variety of events for both internal and external actors, so the campus is often a hive of activity and activity.

The Innopark, a business cluster located right next to HAMK’s premises, also enables us to carry out various business cooperation projects.

The Hämeenlinna University Centre is located in the Visamäki district, close to highways 3 and 10, a few kilometres from the city centre. We are easy to reach by car, public transport or even by bike. The campus and its surroundings offer a variety of services, including a grocery store, lunch restaurants, a sports hall and student housing.

The Hämeenlinna University Centre is located in the Visamäki district, near highways 3 and 10, a few kilometres from the city centre. We are easy to reach by car, public transport or by bike.

Public transport

The nearest local bus stops to the campus are Korkeakoulukeskus P and Vankanlähde E.

From Hämeenlinna railway station, bus station and city centre there is a direct local bus connection (bus line 2) to the university centre. Line 13 also runs next to the campus.

By car

The closest parking area to the main entrance of the University School Centre is at the end of Vankanlähde. The parking areas are marked on the campus map.

Our campus doors are generally open on weekdays between 8am and 4pm.

HAMK students can get a key card, which can be used to move around the campus even when the doors are locked.

Services

The campus restaurant Helmi in Hämeenlinna University Centre offers a varied lunch menu for students, staff and visitors on weekdays. There is also a cafeteria.

Other dining options

There are also two other restaurants on campus area.

You can also get snacks, takeaway lunch and other refreshments at the K-market Visamäki next to the campus.

On campus, you can find the EXAM Exam Aquarium in room D-150, (D-building, 1st floor, next to the canteen). The exam room is also open to students from other universities during campus opening hours.

The nearest entrances to the EXAM studio are the main entrance of building N and the entrance to building D from the Visakaarre side. The exam room is on the same floor when entering from building D. There is a lift from the N building.

All enrolled degree students who are registered for attendance receive primary health care services through the FSHS.

Hämeenlinna has the Hämeenlinna Region Student Housing Foundation (HOPS), which rents apartments in Visakylä and Kampuskaarre, near the university centre, and in Hattelmala.

Student Union of Häme University of Applied Sciences – HAMKO represents HAMK students and promotes their interests at all our campuses.

Rakennus Lepaalla

Lepaa

With farm landscapes, tomato production and 20 hectares of parkland, our Lepaa campus gives you a taste of horticulture up close. The campus has a long tradition of training horticultural professionals for over 100 years, since 1910.

Mustiala

Historic Mustiala, located in a peaceful rural setting, is HAMK’s oldest campus, dating back to 1840. Today, the old and idyllic buildings are surrounded by an advanced organic teaching and research farm, providing students with a hands-on learning environment.

Riihimäki

Diverse engineering skills, robotics and transport, you’ll find it all at the Riihimäki campus. The campus offers both Finnish- and English-language engineering courses, graduating future all-rounders. In addition to teaching, the campus also does a lot of research work.
