We are developing a safe artificial intelligence laboratory for the Häme region, where companies and communities can experiment and create responsible artificial intelligence solutions in an environment that ensures data security and privacy protection.

The development of artificial intelligence technology and language models has opened up new opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, but at the same time raised questions about data security and privacy. Many commercial AI tools are not suitable for environments where sensitive data, such as health information or trade secrets, is handled.

In the RDI-Intelligence project, we are developing a solution to this challenge by creating a secure artificial intelligence laboratory, where open source AI tools enable experiments in a secure manner. Through practical experiments, we provide companies with tools and support for utilizing AI in their business. The AI laboratory is designed specifically for those companies and organizations that cannot use commercial AI services due to privacy and security restrictions.

Project objectives

The aim of the project is primarily to improve the artificial intelligence expertise and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in Kanta-Häme. Additionally, the goal is to create a secure artificial intelligence laboratory where companies and communities can test and develop responsible AI solutions in an environment that ensures data security and privacy protection. The project aims to promote the use of open source AI tools and encourages practical experiments to foster the emergence of new innovations and solutions. At the same time, the goal is to build a developing cooperation network and ecosystem around artificial intelligence that supports the technological and economic growth of the Kanta-Häme region.

Target group

The main target groups of the project are small and medium-sized enterprises in Kanta-Häme, research, development and innovation actors, public organizations, and educational institutions, who are offered support and resources for utilizing artificial intelligence in business and innovation. Indirect target groups include residents and employees in the region, other private and public sectors, as well as national and international research and development communities, who benefit from the artificial intelligence expertise developed in the project and the improvements it brings to services, products, and processes.

Operating area

The primary geographical operating area of the project is Kanta-Häme, but the results and impacts of the project may also extend more widely to the national and international level, especially through research and development cooperation.

Practical AI Experiments for Businesses – Join Our Project to Develop Tailored Solutions

During the project, at least 10 practical experiments will be carried out to develop artificial intelligence solutions for concrete challenges. The experiments are tailored to the needs of companies and help them effectively implement artificial intelligence.

Companies and organizations participating in the project receive direct support in utilizing artificial intelligence in their business and development activities. The aim of the project is to improve innovation capability and competitiveness by providing companies with new tools and practical solutions.

Actions of the Project

The project maps the artificial intelligence needs of companies, carries out practical experiments, and develops a secure artificial intelligence laboratory. This enables the growth of artificial intelligence expertise and innovation capacity of the region’s actors.

In the initial phase of the project, we will investigate the current state and needs of utilizing artificial intelligence in small and medium-sized enterprises in Kanta-Häme. This will be done through company interviews and surveys, based on which future practical experiments will be planned.

The project will implement at least 10 practical experiments in collaboration with companies. The experiments are tailored to the needs of the companies and develop artificial intelligence solutions that support business and innovation.

We are developing a secure artificial intelligence laboratory that provides a platform for developing and testing AI solutions. The laboratory utilizes open-source tools and adheres to strict security and privacy practices, enabling responsible AI development for companies working with sensitive data.

Finally, we present the results of the project at events and seminars, where companies and stakeholders can share their experiences and learn from each other’s solutions. The results are also widely shared with the business networks in the area.
