Developing climate- and environmentally-friendly, as well as nutritionally sound plant-based food products, requires diverse expertise. This underscores the importance of fostering closer collaboration among businesses and stakeholders in the food industry. Our project, “Accelerating growth through plant-based food innovations,” aims to expand the variety of plant-based products by providing comprehensive information and recipes throughout the entire supply chain, while forming new collaborative networks.

The increasing adoption of plant-based food products is beneficial for both environmental sustainability and human well-being. However, the range of commonly used plant species as ingredients remains relatively narrow. This limited variety threatens the diversity and resilience of food production as climate change progresses. Furthermore, consumers are increasingly diverse, each placing different emphasis on characteristics such as convenience, taste, nutritional content, culinary experiences, or novelty.

Our goal of the project is to enhance collaboration and innovation capabilities among stakeholders. This involves boosting innovation readiness through accessible product trials and joint product and service development with businesses and research institutions. By fostering customer-centric thinking, we aim to facilitate and encourage consumer adoption of plant-friendly choices.
