The Evaluation Study of the State of Lifelong Guidance research project investigates the state of lifelong guidance in Finland.
Lifelong guidance consists of various information, advice and guidance services offered in the education sector, employment services, and as part of youth services’ guidance at different stages of an individual’s life. Service providers include both public and private actors.
Our goal of the Elontila evaluation research is to form a systematic picture of the entirety of Finnish lifelong guidance information, advice and guidance services, and to evaluate their effectiveness in terms of availability, quality, outcomes and impact.
As part of the evaluation research project, a quality framework for lifelong guidance is being developed. It includes proposals for common national lifelong guidance monitoring subjects and assessment tools that transcend sector boundaries, to support local and national data-driven management and lifelong guidance work.
The final report of the study will be published in autumn 2024. The research team communicates the progress and interim results of the study on the organizations’ websites, X and through press releases.
The research is commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland. The project is implemented with the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), as part of Finland’s Sustainable Growth Programme.
